Nikon Nikkor Z 26mm F2.8 vs Nikon Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8
Nikon Z
The Z 26mm f/2.8 is a true pancake: Nikon calls it the slimmest autofocus lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras. It sticks out just over 2 cm from the mount and weighs 125 g. The Z 28mm f/2.8 came a good year earlier (November 2021) and was Nikon's smallest and lightest Z prime at launch, but at 43 mm long and 155 g it is noticeably thicker.
Both are f/2.8, designed for full frame and have no built-in stabilization. So this is not about speed but about shape and focal length: 26 mm shows a bit more of the scene, while 28 mm is the classic street and reportage focal length.
Which one suits whom?
- Z 26: You want the camera as flat as possible for a jacket pocket, and a wide everyday focal length is enough.
