The essentials

Sigma has announced the FP2, a full-frame L-mount system camera that Sigma says has the world's smallest full-frame body[1]. It goes on sale on November 11, 2026, from $2,199 for the body only in the US[2].

Key specifications

The image sensor is a partially stacked 35 mm full-frame CMOS measuring 35.9 × 23.9 mm with about 24.5 megapixels[3]. The photo ISO range runs from 100 to 102400, expandable down to ISO 6. The camera has an electronic shutter only, with speeds from 1/25600 s to 30 s, and shoots up to 20 frames per second, up to 200 JPEG frames per burst. Autofocus uses image-plane phase detection plus contrast detection and recognizes humans, dogs, cats and birds. The body measures about 112.8 × 69.9 × 41.8 mm and weighs about 376 g according to Sigma's global page, or about 460 g with SD card and battery. Video gets electronic image stabilization. Sigma quotes about 370 still images or about 130 minutes of video per battery charge[3].

Video and storage

A switch on top of the body toggles between STILL and CINE mode, each with its own user interface[1]. The FP2 records 6K OpenGate video, supports Apple ProRes RAW and L-Log, and Sigma quotes up to 14.1 stops of dynamic range for 4K full-frame with L-Log[3]. For storage there is an SD card slot (UHS-II) and 70 GB of internal storage[1].

Screen and viewfinder

The touchscreen measures 3.15 inches with about 2.1 million dots and tilts about 90° up and 45° down[3]. The FP2 has no built-in viewfinder, but Sigma offers the attachable EVF-21 electronic viewfinder with a 0.5-inch OLED and about 5.76 million dots, connected via USB-C[1].

Price and availability

In the US the FP2 costs from $2,199 (body only). Bundles with the 50mm F2 DG | Contemporary or with the EVF-21 cost $2,749 each[2]. Launch is November 11, 2026; Sigma notes that appearance and specifications are subject to change[1].
