Fujifilm XC 15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ vs Fujifilm XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS

Fujifilm X-Mount

The XC 15-45 PZ is Fujifilm's small entry-level zoom: it has a power zoom, extends when you switch the camera on and weighs just 135 g. According to Fujifilm it is the smallest and lightest interchangeable zoom of the X series (introduced January 2018). The XF 18-55 is the premium take on the same range, with an aperture ring and stabilization of up to 4 stops. At 310 g it is more than twice as heavy.

In return it is faster (f/2.8-4 instead of f/3.5-5.6) and reaches a little further at 55 mm. The XC starts at 15 mm, which is wider.

  • XC 15-45: You want the smallest combination for travel or video and value the power zoom more than an aperture ring.
  • XF 18-55: You want more light, an aperture ring and more reach, and accept double the weight.
