Overview
The Brightin Star MF 7.5mm F2.8 IV APS-C Fisheye is a manual focus fisheye for APS-C and Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. The maker quotes a 190 degree angle of view and sells it in black and silver for Sony E, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, Canon RF, Canon EF-M and Micro Four Thirds. It was introduced in May 2026 as the fourth generation of the 7.5mm design. The lens is aimed at travel, skate, landscape, architecture and astrophotography shooters who want a strong, creative perspective in a very small package.
Optical design
According to Brightin Star the lens has 11 elements in 8 groups. The design includes three extra-low dispersion and three high-refractive elements aimed at limiting chromatic aberration, distortion artifacts and flare. The aperture runs from F2.8 to F16 and uses only five blades, which the maker says produce pronounced 10-point sunstars around bright lights. The minimum focus distance is 0.15 m. There is no front filter thread. Brightin Star lists a 27 mm rear filter size.
Focusing and handling
Focusing is fully manual. Brightin Star points to a distinctive aperture ring design on the barrel. With a fisheye of this width, depth of field is very large, so the distance scale is usually enough for quick shooting. No stabilizer is built in, so any stabilization comes from the camera.
Build and size
The maker describes an all-aluminum alloy body. Weight depends on the mount: 274 g for Sony E, 276 g for Canon EF-M, Fujifilm X and Micro Four Thirds, 277 g for Canon RF and 291 g for Nikon Z. The diameter is about 64 to 67 mm and the length 52 to 56 mm.
Where it fits
Earlier versions of the 7.5mm are not in the database. Close competitors are the 7artisans 7.5mm F2.8 Fisheye for Fujifilm X, Canon EF-M, Micro Four Thirds and Sony E, and the TTArtisan 7.5mm f/2 Fisheye, which is faster and available for seven mounts. The Samyang / Rokinon 8mm F2.8 UMC Fisheye II and the Kamlan 8mm F3.0 Fisheye are slightly longer in focal length.
